Darren Bent has said that Arsenal should not sell Ainsley Maitland-Niles to bitter North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
According to , Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing Maintland-Niles from Premier League rivals Arsenal, who are rated at 16/5 by to finish in the top four next season.
Former Spurs striker Bent, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan, has said that the Gunners should not sell the 22-year-old who can operate as a midfielder, winger, full-back or wing-back t0 Jose Mourinho s side this summer.
“I hope it doesn’t happen. I think he played really well last season at times.
“He’s got the capability to play in several different positions. I can’t see how Arsenal can let that one happen, I think the fans are going to be infuriated.
“I know a lot of the fans like him down there. They won’t be able to understand letting him walk out of the door especially to your rivals. I don’t think it would go down too well.”
