Naismith heading towards Everton exit door

Everton forward Steven Naismith is on the verge of securing a move away from Goodison Park,.

The Scotland international has been strongly linked with a move to Norwich City, though Toffees manager Roberto Martinez has refused to say which club is involved.

The twenty-nine-year-old moved to the Merseyside club from Rangers in the summer of 2012 and has since racked up one hundred and twenty-three appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring twenty-five goals.

All three of his league strikes this season came in Everton’s shock 3-1 win over champions Chelsea back in September though he has started just four league games since and has only scored for his country.

Mourinho happy with Chelsea squad

Chelsea F.C. manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he is happy with his current squad, insisting he will not sell Fernando Torres this transfer window.

The Spain international, 30, joined Chelsea for a club-record fee of £50 million in 2011 but has failed to live up to the expectation of the club s supporters.

Mourinho has strengthened the Blues strikeforce after belittling last year s trio of Demba Ba, Samuel Eto o and Torres on several occasions, bringing in Diego Costa and Didier Drogba from Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray respectively.

The Portuguese has also brought in Cesc Fabregas and Kurt Zouma, who returns from his loan at French Ligue 1 side AS Saint-Étienne, and is content with his current rotation of players.

Griezmann: What else do I have to do to win Ballon d´Or?

Antoine Griezmann is proud to have been on the Ballon d Or podium but expressed his surprise at missing out on the top prize.

But he finished third in the voting for the Ballon d Or, with Cristiano Ronaldo in second while Luka Modric became the first Croatian to win the honour.

Departing Henry believes Monaco can survive under Jardim

Thierry Henry departs Monaco with great sadness but is confident they have the squad of players to remain in Ligue 1 under Leonardo Jardim s stewardship.

Henry was suspended on Thursday and his sacking was confirmed 24 hours later, the club s former striker leaving after just three months in charge having replaced Jardim and failed to inspire a turnaround to move them away from the relegation zone.

Franck Passi will take charge for the relegation six-pointer against Dijon on Saturday before Jardim reassumes control.

Henry s departure comes with the club a point and a place above the bottom of the Ligue 1 table, with the former Belgium assistant having overseen a Champions League group-stage exit and a Coupe de France humbling at the hands of second-tier Metz duri…

Leicester owner reveals Vardy signing doubts

Leicester City owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha says he needed convincing before gambling on Jamie Vardy but was happy to be proven wrong about the non-league journeyman turned Premier League title-winner.

The Foxes sealed a remarkable league championship triumph when Tottenham failed to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
