Lawrence set for Derby switch

Derby County are closing in on the signing of Leicester City midfielder Tom Lawrence, according to the Mail Online.

The Wales international is undergoing a medical at Derby’s Moor Farm training base and could complete the switch within the next twenty-four hours.

Rams boss Gary Rowett is keen to add more creativity to his midfield before the transfer window slams shut, not least after taking just one point from their opening two Championship games.

Lawrence moved to Leicester in the summer of 2014 but has played for the Foxes just four times in total, spending much of his time since out on loan.

He spent last season with Ipswich Town, racking up thirty-six times in all competitions, scoring eleven goals – more than any other player in Mick McCart…

Man Utd rumours impacted Sancho form, suggests Favre

Jadon Sancho s recent dip in form could have been caused by the incessant transfer speculation surrounding him during pre-season, according to Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre.

Sancho was the subject of intense transfer rumours in the close-season as Manchester United reportedly attempted to prise the England international away.

Dortmund maintained early on that Sancho was not for sale once an August deadline passed, and they successfully resisted United s apparent attempts to make a deal happen.

But, while no move transpired, Favre suggests it was not a case of no harm being done.

Sancho has only had a hand in two goals (two assists) in four Bundesliga matches at the start of 2020-21, a somewhat disappointing figure by his usual stand…

Aubameyang looks like he has decided to leave Arsenal, says Ferdinand

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks like he has already decided to pursue an Arsenal exit, according to Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand.

Having already inspired Arsenal s FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City, the Gabon international scored both goals as the Gunners came from behind to defeat rivals Chelsea 2-1 in Saturday s final at Wembley.

It capped a superb season for the club captain, who has scored 29 goals across all competitions and been prolific ever since signing from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.

The future of Aubameyang has been intensely debated as he is out of contract in 12 months, with the Gunners not in next season s Champions League, though this win ensured they do at least reach the Europa League.

Tony Hawk is “Working on Something” with Activision That “Fans Will Truly Appreciate”

After Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 +2 developer Vicarious Visions joined Blizzard Entertainment and became Blizzard Albany, any hope for future remakes in the series more or less dissipated. However, it seems something could be happening in the future.

Regarding the franchise’s future, he said, “I wish I could tell you more, but I can tell you that I’ve been talking to Activision again. We’re working on something. It will be something the fans will truly appreciate.”

Of course, what that “something” could be is anyone’s guess. Remakes of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4

Title challenge will still be difficult, says Guardiola

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is remaining cool on his side s hopes of retaining their La Liga title.

Barca have managed to close to within eight points of league leaders Real Madrid after a weekend in which the Catalans cruised to a 2-0 win at Sevilla before Jose Mourinho s side conceded a last-gasp equaliser to Santi Cazorla in a 1-1 draw with Malaga.

There are those believe that the title race is now very much back on but Guardiola is refusing to get carried away.

I m delighted that the fans think we can make a comeback (in the Liga). I think it s great, Guardiola said.

I haven t changed my opinion in the past two days. It will be difficult (to catch Madrid). And the only thing we can control is ourselves; that s what we need to focus on.

Increased police presence but World Cup events unaffected after NZ shooting

An increased police presence will be seen around Auckland as the Women’s World Cup gets underway after a shooting at a construction site in the city left three people dead.

New Zealand Police reported that a gunman had killed two people before he died and there were also multiple injuries during the incident, which came just hours before co-hosts New Zealand were due to kick off the tournament against Norway at Eden Park.

Addressing media in New Zealand on Thursday morning, New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins said: “Clearly with the FIFA World Cup kicking off this evening there are a lot of eyes on Auckland.

“The government has spoken to FIFA organisers this morning and the tournament will proceed as planned.

Mourinho appears to take dig at old nemesis Guardiola

Jose Mourinho appeared to take a swipe at his old foe and Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola after guiding Chelsea to their fourth Premier League title.

Eden Hazard s headed rebound, after his i

nitial penalty had been saved, was enough for Chelsea to clinch the league with three games to spare courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

It marks the eighth domestic league title that Mourinho has won across four different countries during his coaching career.

One of those triumphs came in the 2011-12 season when in charge of Real Madrid as the capital club amassed 100 points to beat Barcelona then coached by Guardiola to the Liga title.

Since then, Guardiola has led Bayern Munich to consecutive league crowns a…
